Center for Independent Futures’ eighth annual Something’s Cooking provided a festive and food-filled afternoon for over 300 guests on Sunday, November 6th at Prairie Moon in Evanston.  The event featured a tasting of signature dishes served by nine of the Evanston's finest restaurants - Bravo!, Celtic Knot, Corner Chef, Fire House Grill, Koi, LuLu's, Prairie Moon, That Little Mexican Cafe and Tom Zipprich.

In additional to the fabulous array of delicious delights, there was a a culinary-themed silent auction showcasing items donated by dozens of local businesses, and a spread of sweets and spirits for guests to enjoy.

Do you really need an excuse to go shopping on Central Street in Evanston?  If so, here’s an ideal one!

Community Day on Central Street is Saturday, November 12th and a portion of the proceeds from your purchases made at participating businesses will be given to Center for Independent Futures!

How does Community Day on Central Street work?  It is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Download the event flyer or print it from the Central Street Business Association’s website.

2. Circle Center for Independent Futures on the flyer and bring it with you when you shop at any of the Central Street participating merchants on Saturday, November 12th.

3. Hand the flyer to the cashier when you make your purchase and between 10% - 20% of your purchase will be donated to Center for Independent Futures (CIF).

It’s that simple.
