CIF Celebrates Two New Beginnings

June 24, 2015

This month, the Center for Independent Futures staff celebrates two new beginnings as we welcome a new staff member and see another off on a new adventure.

Becca Kaplan, who has been at CIF for three years, departs Chicago to pursue her master’s degree in social work at Washington University in St. Louis. While at CIF, Becca has supported nearly every aspect of the organization, including coordinating housing trainings, facilitating the Advisory Council, organizing Volunteer Club, and supporting the Board of Directors. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Becca has been a valued member of the CIF staff and Auxiliary Board since 2012, and she will be much missed.

As we say goodbye to Becca, we say hello to Jake Rohde, CIF’s new office administrator. Jake, who also serves on the Auxiliary Board, joins the staff part-time to support the day-to-day operations of all aspects of CIF. A long-time Evanstonian, Jake is committed to giving back to his community. He has a degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and also serves as an assistant football coach at Evanston Township High School.

We are excited to welcome Jake on board as we wish Becca all the best on her new journey!
