Supported Decision-Making: Afternoon Session

We believe...

  • An individual's right to make decisions about his or her life is fundamental to a full life.
  • Communication challenges should not be misinterpreted as lack of interest, desire, or competency to make decisions.
  • Families should have access to information about all options for supporting their family member to make decisions.
  • People with intellectual disabilities should have access to decision-making supports that promote respect, dignity, and personal autonomy in the areas of health care, person-centered planning, and independent living.

Join us to learn about Supported Decision-Making.

Through Supported Decision-Making, individuals with disabilities choose trusted people to support them in making their own decisions. Learn more from Morgan Whitlatch, a nationally renowned expert in disability law who has dedicated her career to working with and on behalf of people with disabilities.
