SPARK Shines in 2016

May 5, 2016

Center for Independent Futures’ tenth annual SPARK celebrated the stars in our community with an evening of glamour and fun! Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, participated in the raffle or Heads or Tails game, bid in the silent or live auctions, and supported us through donations.

We are especially grateful to our sponsors for the evening, including gold sponsors Guy Bauer Productions and Whole Foods Market and bronze sponsors First Bank & Trust, Suzanne and Jim Kenney, and Matt and Ben Palmore. Dessert sponsors CB Custom Bakeshop and Sweetie Pies Bakery helped us fill the dessert displays and beverage sponsors Goose Island and E. & J. Gallo Winery helped us stock the bars. Media sponsor Make It Better also donated incredible auction items.

After exciting bidding contests in the live auction, lucky winners went home with four front-row seats to a Cubs game, an original Chicago-themed painting by staff member Rob Larson, tickets to a Beyonce concert and “The Book of Mormon,” and a four-night stay in Las Vegas.

Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the second annual Jane Doyle AWESOME! Awards. This year, we honored staff member Jeff Morthorst, participant Debbie Wall, and community partner Dr. Paul Arntson. Read more about the award winners here.

Finally, we are grateful once again to the talents and generosity of Guy Bauer Productions for creating another short film about our community for us to premiere at SPARK. This year’s film tells the story of the amazing friendship between three women and how Center for Independent Futures supports them to live full lives together. Thank you to all of our supporters, old and new, who helped make SPARK 2016 a shining success!
