Support Full Lives This Holiday Season

December 18, 2015

As 2015 comes to a close, Center for Independent Futures has been reflecting on how grateful we are for all of the support that makes our work possible. Because of you, we have been able to broaden our reach and impact more lives.

In our community, individuals find opportunities to meet friends, try new things, and broaden their interests. According to participant Kyle Bean, our Activities Program is the perfect environment for exploration. “It makes you feel welcome and proud and safe,” Kyle says of the atmosphere at Center for Independent Futures. “I’m involved because it makes me feel active, alive, and healthy.”

In addition to our Activities Program, Center for Independent Futures is committed to providing opportunities for individuals to engage with the broader community. One participant who exemplifies community involvement is Ben Campbell, who works with his Life Skills tutors, lives in a Community Living Option residence, and participates in events and activities.

“If he lived with us, he’d still work at Whole Foods but then come home to nothing but TV,” Ben’s mother, Gerri Campbell, reflects. “Since moving to Evanston and working with Center for Independent Futures, he’s really taken off on his own and blossomed.”

Without your support, none of these opportunities would be possible for Kyle, Ben, and the rest of the Center for Independent Futures community. As the need for new solutions and services continues to grow, your contribution is increasingly important. We’re looking forward to supporting more full lives in 2016, and we invite you to join us.
