Join us for a unique opportunity. On Thursday, May 20th from 7 pm to 8 pm, Federal Trade Commission Staff Attorney Samantha Denny will present a FREE interactive Zoom event tailored to Independent Futures.
Recently members of our community have had fraudulent unemployment claims filed in their names. This timely presentation will give us a friendly, safe space to learn the techniques to keep your identity safe and an opportunity to ask an expert any of your questions.

Samantha (Sam) Denny is a staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Midwest Region Office. She litigates consumer protection cases in federal district court involving the fraudulent marketing and sale of a variety of products and services. Some of her recent cases include the sale of medical alert devices to seniors, phony tech support services, online negative option subscriptions, and the sale of worthless credit repair services. Samantha is a frequent participant in the FTC Midwest Region’s community outreach efforts regularly speaking on a variety of topics including how to avoid consumer fraud, identity theft, and cybersecurity.
