Independence, Opportunity, Access, & You
From day one, Center for Independent Futures has been living our hopes and dreams alongside our participants. When we begin to work with an individual with disabilities, we start by asking, “What is YOUR vision for the future?”
Our Life Skills Tutors work with participants in the community – at the gym, at a cafe, and at participant’s apartments. Working in these spaces means that we put into practice true community inclusion, and that’s part of what makes our approach the best practice.
By working in the community, we support individuals in developing full lives that include working, volunteering, living healthfully, and creating friendships. Our mission is to provide individuals with disabilities the chance to access all opportunities of a full life.
As a result of our approach, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, 75% of our participants were employed in the community. More than 200 individuals with disabilities have moved into the community of their choice after our New Futures Initiative training. Over 90% of our participants actively participate in community activities.
At Center for Independent Futures, we turns hopes & dreams into actions & plans, providing person-centered planning since 2002. We will continue this work, but we need your help. Please donate today to help us reach our goal and continue providing these opportunities.
