Shop on Central to Support Our Community

November 16, 2016

If holiday shopping is on your to-do list, Evanston’s Central Street neighborhood is the perfect destination this year. From December 4 through December 24, the shopping district hosts “Twenty Days of Giving,” this year supporting Center for Independent Futures. Visitors to the neighborhood’s shops, restaurants, and service providers have the chance to support our work toward a future where all individuals have access to the opportunities of a full life.

“Twenty  Days of Giving” kicks off on Sunday, December 4, with Central Street’s Holiday Open House from 12-4 p.m. This festive afternoon will feature in-store events, sales, entertainment, and seasonal refreshments at local businesses. Join Center for Independent Futures for a festive afternoon to support the community partners who are supporting us.

Following the open house, visit Central Street to find all of your holiday gifts. From boutiques like Stella and Notice to specialty shops like Old Town Oil and The Spice House, there’s something for everyone on your list, along with plenty of cafes and restaurants for hungry shoppers. To see a complete Central Street directory, visit

Center for Independent Futures is grateful for the support of the Central Street Business Association, the neighborhood’s local businesses, and the community members who shop there. For more information, visit
